Today we had the pleasure to go to the Dublin Contemporary Exhibition. This trip was organized by our lecturers and its main purpose was to inspire and open up our minds for our upcoming forth year projects. Great !..
These are some pictures I took (New Age Fun with a Vintage Feel ). Some music while you scroll down ??

Recently, I feel like I finally took off those rose-coloured glasses. Everything became clearer. Nicer. I feel like I have sharp eyesight, you know, full HD vision.
So today, I decided to make a visual representation of an english phrase “through rose-colored glasses”. I have always liked that phrase and I remember watching a movie, when I was little, about this exact topic. I remember it well, because of the way the movie was shot: the director actually used a pink lenses to film the happy bits of the movie, and the rest was filmed with few average colours.
This phrase means, that the world seems so much brighter and nicer than it really is.
I thought that the best way to go about creating this idea would be to create a “dream versus reality” type of collage. …
Also, I came across a quote which I feel is quite positive and inspiring…
“The artist is nothing without the gift, but the gift is nothing without work.” – Emile Zola (1840-1902)
Recently I have been feeling insane. Really feeling mental, not right. You know? That feeling when something is wrong, but you can’t quit grasp it or see it. You can’t get it out of your head, but it’s always there. And there’s no way of fixing it, because you don’t know what’s wrong. Feeling like a lost item that someone should be looking for and missing, but instead, they don’t even notice it’s gone.
I have been stuck at home for the summer, yes I do get freelance work here and there, but that’s not a holiday. Not an escape. I love my escapes. I’m the type who enjoys leaving the norm and experiencing the new and strange. Leaving all the problems and putting life on pause. These four walls have been my worst nightmares and my enemies in the last few weeks…
I have, however, been trying to open my mind to new things and experiences. I have been watching a few of TED videos. And I honestly love them. I even watched the one on flowers and pollen. I felt that I was learning and I was honeslty content. But most importantly, I felt inspired. How wonderful nature is, the way it’s designed and how it works. For example, did you know that Philodendron Selloum flower heats up to a temperature close to 40 degrees, so a particular species of beetles can “do it” on the flower, collect the pollen and thus assuring the plant’s reproduction.
I thought I should learn to be inspired.
I present to you …. CREATIVITY
So, the holidays have started and I have nothing to do. It’s been two days, and I can’t enjoy time-off, still need to be working on something, need to sit in front of the computer and think and do things in photoshop, flash, illustrator or dreamweaver … and now, Joomla too.
However, as it is one of my friend’s birthday, I made her this mosaic portrait instead
… and I let her in.
